Happy 3rd Anniversary

For our 3rd anniversary we traveled to Vegas for a couple of days.  This is where we got engaged, so Vegas hold lots of good memories for both of us.  While we were gone we relaxed...  This gave me some time to catch-up on some shows I like to watch but can't seem to find the time.  I also read the book Hunger Games, which I love.
We did some fun stuff too. The first night we were there we ate at a great place, Delmonico in the Venetian.  Then went to see the Cirque du Soleli, Elvis show.  This show was great. Lots of great music and very upbeat!
The night of our Anniversary we went to our favorite place to eat, Top of the World in the top of the Stratosphere hotel.  This is where we ate the night we got engaged.  It's a revolving restaurant overlooking the strip.  It's pretty amazing and the food is just as good.
Our last night there, we ate at an Italian place we discovered while I was pregnant (and in love with pasta, haha). The place is off the strip, behind the Flamingo hotel.  All you can drink house wine, wonderful pasta, and one of a kind garlic bread.  Batista's!  Everyone should experience this place, even if it's just once.  After dinner we went to Caesar's where I rolled craps and made a quick $425 for us.  I was quite a 'hot' roller I was told by an old man. Not quite sure which type of hot he is talking about, and sure wasn't going to ask...
Then we saw a vulgar, but incredible show, Absinthe.
Another super trip to one of our favorite places.  Hope we come here many more times together!

Update on the boy!

Austin is growing way too fast.  I really want time to slow down. He is getting so big and has such a funny little personality.  He is a wild child who: runs, laughs, trips, falls, throws fits, jabbers non-stop but most of all is becoming independent.  Unless he is sleepy and then he will still snuggle up close to me and let me hold him like a baby.
He loves anything he can ride and loves the outside.  You can hear the screaming child miles around at night when it is time to come in.
He is so much more than I could have ever imagined or prayed for.  I sometimes still can't believe he is MINE!

A Great Friday Night

On Friday we had 2 of our favorite couples join us for dinner at Kayne Prime. This place is amazing.  The steaks are like nothing I have ever tasted. Steven and I had been there once before, and thought it was great.  Who better to share it with than our closest friends?  Dinner was great and the company, even better.  Grant and Steven kept us laughing through the night. It was a blast!
We love Blake and Fran, we have considered them our 'besties' for years.  They
are so much fun and we love hanging out with them.
Grant and Gina have become great friends of ours.  They are our dinner dates at least once a week.  They help out with our house, the dogs, now Austin, and anything else we may need help with.
I am so grateful for both of these couples.  They are more like family than friends.  We love you all!!!

Candlelight Ball 2012

This past weekend Steven and I attend Candlelight Ball (for the first time) at the Hilton in Nashville.  It was like a grown up prom. Steven rented a tux, I got a great dress, hair done, and a HOT date. Lots of fun! This will be a yearly tradition for us.  We had a great time with good friends.  Thanks to Steven and good friends for a night full of laughs and good memories!

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess

Last Friday was Read Across America aka Dr. Suess's Birthday.  Being a teacher, I make this a big deal.  The best quote I have ever heard is "A child's love for reading begins on their mother's lap." This is one thing I want Austin to love.  Children who love to read are smart.  Who doesn't want a smart child?

Austin rocked his Cat In the Hat shirt. I made cat in the hat cupcakes for his class and donated a Dr. Suess book, Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?  Then at daycare he ate green eggs and ham for breakfast.  So stinking cute!!

For my class I made red velvet cupcakes and they decorated 'thing 1' and 'thing 2' using cotton candy.  I had an amazing grandma make green eggs too.

It was a great birthday for Dr. Suess!
